Yes, there seem to be good, relevant reasons for using Epsom salts for plants. Epsom salt helps improve flower blooming and enhances a plant’s green color. It can even help plants grow bushier. Why Put Epsom Salts on Plants?

Why not? Even if you don’t believe in its effectiveness, it never hurts to try it. Magnesium allows plants to better take in valuable nutrients, like nitrogen and phosphorus. It also helps in the creation of chlorophyll, which is vital for photosynthesis. In addition, magnesium greatly improves a plant’s ability to produce flowers and fruit. If the soil becomes depleted of magnesium, adding Epsom salt will help; and since it poses little danger of overuse like most commercial fertilizers, you can use it safely on nearly all your garden plants.

Makes Plants Greener

Epsom salt makes greener plants. Magnesium, one of the main elements of Epsom salt, is said to make plants greener. It does this because magnesium is useful in the plants' creation of chlorophyll, which is what determines a plant's leaf color, and ultimately results in the plant's foliage appearing lusher. Chlorophyll is also important for the plant to photosynthesize, a process that enables the plant to make food and energy for itself.

Deters Pests

Epsom salt can help to deter some garden pests, including voles and slugs. Treating your plants with Epsom salts may decrease numbers of slugs in your garden, but it likely won’t be the miracle pest deterrent you are hoping for. Realistically, if you are looking to treat your pest problem, then Epsom salts should not be your first port of call, however, if you are using Epsom salts to help your roses grow, then their ability to discourage some pests from setting up camp is a beneficial side effect.

Neutralizes Soil pH

If you have a high soil pH in excess of 7.5 pH, then adding Epsom salts to it could help to neutralize it. Many plants will struggle to grow in soils that are too alkaline, and so reducing the pH level of the soil in these instances will be very beneficial. The Epsom salts should be worked into the soil, and will gradually increase the acidity of the soil over time.

Balances Nutrient Levels

Epsom salts can help balance nutrient levels in particular types of soils. If your plants are not performing well and you suspect a nutrient deficiency, you can get your soil tested to find out what is missing. Magnesium is a common nutrient that is deficient in agricultural soil or soil, which has been overworked, and it will need replacing to ensure plants growing in that soil remain healthy. If the magnesium levels of your soil have been depleted from years of growing tomatoes, for example, then supplementing your soil with Epsom salts could balance out the nutrient levels and improve future crops.

How Much Epsom Salt For Plants

There are many different ways to use Epsom salts in the garden, and the ratio you can use will differ depending on the application method, and the plants you are treating.

For a general Epsom salt supplement that can be used in the garden and on houseplants, use two tablespoons of Epsom salt per gallon of water, and use this to water your plants once each month in between regular watering. For roses, work in half a cup of Epsom salts around the base of the plant to encourage new growth and flowering.

When initially planting roses, it is recommended that you add one spoon of Epsom salts to the hole before lowering the plant in. Shrubs, including azaleas and rhododendrons, can benefit from an Epsom salt feed once a month, while trees can be treated with Epsom salts around three times each year.

We accept payment by PayPal. We will not entertain payment by personal or business cheque.

By PayPal: We prefer payment by verified PayPal accounts with a confirmed address. Please note that paying a Cheque through PayPal can delay your shipment by up-to 2 weeks while payment clears through the PayPal system (check with PayPal on the expected date). Once your eCheque payment clears, your item will be dispatched to you within 1 working day.

Refunds, Returns, & Exchanges

If the item you have purchased arrives faulty or damaged please contact us within 24hrs of receiving your parcel. We will require a picture of the product including the packaging if this is visibly damaged.

When you have provided this information we will investigate the problem and try to resolve it as quickly as we can. In the unlikely event of an item being incorrect due to an error on our part, we will ask you for a picture of the product and the invoice, once the item is returned we will dispatch the correct item on a 24hr delivery.

If you order something in error or change your mind we will accept a return of the product in its original packaging & unused. Please advise us of this within the first 5 days of receiving your order. This will be returned at your own cost. We will issue your refund within 48hrs upon receipt of the return.

If your original purchase qualified for FREE postage and packaging and you choose to return any part or the entire order, you will be responsible for the postage and packaging we incurred to ship the item(s). Please contact us before returning any items as you will require a returns reference (this enables us to process your return and refund quickly). Any returns received without a returns reference may take longer to process. All refunds are issued within 48hrs from the time we have agreed to the refund

Delivery

We aim to dispatch all orders within 24 working hours, and these are usually delivered within 1-3 working days. All parcels require someone to be available upon delivery. Nevertheless, due to unforeseeable circumstances an item might get misrouted and it could take a few days to be redirected to the correct destination.

If no-one is home to take the delivery, the postman should leave you a 'while you were out' card. There are, however, rare cases when the postman may forget to leave a calling card. If you have not received your delivery within 5 days of dispatch please contact us and we will investigate this for you.

If you require a tracking number please contact us and we will be happy to provide you with this information. The tracking number will allow you to view the progress of your delivery online including failed delivery attempts. Please be advised your parcel will only be held for 18 days, if you do not collect it within that time it will be returned to us.

We will contact you via eBay messages to inform you of this and you will be required to pay a re-delivery charge if you wish to have it resent. If your order is dispatched via Royal Mail First Class post and it does not arrive within 1 week please advise us of this.

You will unfortunately have to allow at least 21 days for first class parcels to be delivered as they may still arrive in this time, please be advised we will not be able to investigate these late deliveries until after this period. Please do not ask us to leave a package outside when you are not likely to be home, someone must be available to accept the delivery. Our aim is to have your order delivered within 1-3 working days from the date of dispatch.

If you have purchased one of our heavier products i.e. Bench, squat rack etc. and you wish to return for any reason these must be dismantled and returned with all the original parts and packaging. If you send a product back not in the condition you received it you will incur a 20% admin/re-stocking fee. Please contact us before returning any large products. When buying from us you accept that we are both depending on the reliability of a third party for your delivery to arrive within the time period stated.

Same day dispatch cut off time is 2pm Monday-Friday. We do not dispatch any orders over the weekend. If you order shows as dispatch on a Saturday this will not have been dispatched until the following Monday.

Extra Postage Charge

If you have purchased one of our heavier products (weight above 6kg) you may incur additional postage cost for some parts of the UK.

Express Delivery

Orders received from Monday - Friday before 2:00pm will be dispatched on the same day and delivered within 48 hours. Please note that this service is offered only within the UK and may not be available in some areas. Please ask if in doubt before placing the order.

Orders received after the deadline are dispatched on the next working day and will be delivered within 48 hours.

We will not do any refund if the delivery is delayed nobody is at home at the moment of delivery and the online tracking information shows that the attempt of delivery has been within the schedule time.

International

Packages shipped outside the UK may experience delays depending on the local postal service in the destination country. Please allow 5 - 10 working days for EU member countries, and up to 30 days for non-EU member countries. Due to stricter customs controls in adjacent islands (even EU members), please allow up to 30 days for delivery. No refunds or replacements will be processed before these specified lengths of time.
